The Freedom of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do. We all desire forgiveness but when it is time to give it sometimes we fall short. It is the sting of offense that causes a deep traumatic feeling in our souls that often hinders us from forgiving the offender. This is why walking in faith is extremely important. Faith enables us to live outside of our carnal pain, outside of the need for vengeance, and outside of the separation with the person who has dealt the blow.

When we walk in faith we have no choice but to walk in love. The instructions of Ephesians 4:31-32 cause us to not look at the offender and to look to Christ. We ourselves were an offense to God and yet He freed us from the accountability of sin and laid it on Jesus.
